Heartbeat
Yesterday Chris and I got to hear the baby's heartbeat, but only after waiting an hour for the doctor. I finally decided to cross some things off my to-do list and register us for childbirth classes and in she walks. She put the doppler thing on my tummy and found the heartbeat right away! 146 bpm. Pretty normal, I hear. I was starting to have some of those crazy "am I still pregnant?" type thoughts because 1) I'm not really showing and well, mostly number 1 I guess. Anyway, still pregnant. Of course, we are still happy about that! I'm 16 weeks now--that's 4 months people (that is people who don't think in weeks, but months like normal people)! We are slowly but surely cleaning out what will be the baby's room. If you've been to our house, it's also called the mango room. Pretty sure we'll paint it as we don't want the child to wish it had never been born. Does anyone out there have some color suggestions? We won't find out the sex until our next appt. on Oct. 14. So, you can look forward to that announcement--hopefully! Hopefully, as in hopefully it won't be crossing it's legs and we can get a good look at the parts :) Today my engagement ring was tough to get on and off so I left it off...did I mention that I'm not really even showing yet!?

What about yellow?
ReplyDeletehey caro - switch your appoint to the 10th so we can shop for that little baby while we're in LI for Chrissy's wedding! I think its pretty normal to not be showing at 16 weeks. When I was preg with Jackson I couldn't wait to show and wear maternity clothes, with the rest I was always like - isn't this early to be showing??? Can't wait to see you! - care
ReplyDeleteoh, you'll pop out soon, i'm sure! enjoy being able to bend over while you can!
ReplyDeleteyou might not want any more green in your house, but if we have any apple green paint left over from Ruby's room, you can have it! It's lighter than your kitchen...
leave the mango room! that child will grow up inpervious to any attacks thrown its way if it can survive the mango room...
ReplyDeleteSo exciting!
I wish I could switch my appointment! It took us awhile to find a date that would work with Chris' schedule. I did have a friend tell me that my tummy was "taut" and not the usual flabby gut :) which is true! So maybe I am showing just a little...
ReplyDeleteI love me some yellow, and if you've seen my house about 1/2 of it is that color.
If it's a girl, I guess I'll consider the mango...see is as an early character building exercise:) knick knack patty whack...
Hi Chris! Remember us in good ol' Grand Junction?! We came across your blog on another friend's blog and we're so excited to see that you all are expecting! Even though we've never met your wife, she must be a fun gal to be married to you! Anyway, congrats on the baby, it will be the best thing in your life - our 2 little boys are the joy in our day! Good to see things are happy for you & your bride, take good care! Oh, Ashley's blog is womanofworth01.blogspot.com if you are interested!
ReplyDeleteCongrats! There is nothing like hearing that sweet heart beat, esp the first time! I was at my Dr's office and heard it in another room and almost starting crying. I want some picts of your growing precious baby bump!!
ReplyDeletePretty soon you'll want to be the size you are now. :)
ReplyDeleteKeep sending the pics of your bump. I would love to be there with you, but since I can't, the pics will be the next best thing!
Your little bean's birthday will probably be in between Cadence's and Ethan's. :)
