Babywise
So, as I write Charlotte's in her room "crying it out" as the lingo so aptly states. I'm trying to get her on a more regular routine with naps (good luck, right?!). Until now I really haven't been putting her down for a nap because, well, she really hasn't had a clear nap schedule. I would like to change this, mostly because it seems like more and more she is overtired and can't calm herself down even when she's exhausted. She's not crying at the moment, but I can hear her in there stirring, so I'll call it "rest time" instead of naptime this morning. Ha ha, I wrote too soon! More later...

getting big!
ReplyDeletehope you're hanging in there with all the exhaustion...I've never been tired except those first few months as i look back...
much love-
What a cutie pie! I hope napping goes well- for her and you!
ReplyDeleteshe's such a cutie. Hey - wanted to recommend a few other books that you might want to check out instead of babywise. "Good Night, Sleep Tight" by Kim West. This is a much gentler approach than Babywise. Also - the "No Cry Sleep Solution" is a good alternative. Just keep in mind she's only 8 weeks old and is learning to trust and communicate with you through her crying. I know its hard, but eventually they all sleep - no matter what method you use :) Love you babe!
ReplyDeleteHey friend! She's SO cute! I can't believe she's so big now. I can't figure out who she looks like. :)
ReplyDeleteIn addition to your friend's recommendations, we've used Baby Whisperer for both Cadence and Ethan and it has worked out pretty well w/getting them on a schedule. It did take Ethan a little bit to get on a schedule, I started around when he was 3 months---we also used the dream feed method that the book recommends w/Ethan and he started sleeping thru the night. And they have a chat board on their website (www.babywhisperer.com) that I have used to help w/what schedule they should be on at whatever age they were at the time.
Also, Baby Whisperer does not recommend the CIO method, but we did use it a little bit w/the kids.
I hope it all goes well!!!
Love you!
